Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 Gluten Free Baking Flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup margarine divided
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp almond milk
  • 1 1/4 cups pecans, chopped

Instructions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, letting it hang over both sides. Grease the other two sides. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar and 1/3 cup of margarine. Beat with an electric mixture until grainy.
  3. Press onto bottom of the pan.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring syrup, almond milk, and pecans to a boil with remaining margarine and brown sugar. Stir.
  6. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Pour into pan over warm crust and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
  8. Run a thin blade around crust and let cool completely.
  9. Remove from pan and cut into 36 squares.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
